im about to purchase a Hydor Koralia Water Circulation Pump. they come in 400gph and an 800 gph. theyll be put on a 55 reef tank. if i have 220 coralife needle wheel skimmer 500gph, emporer 400 400gph, what size will i need of these new powerheads??

how many do you want. they dont come in 800gph they are 850gph and they make 4 different types. do you have any other type of water movement, cause if you only have a skimmer and a HOB filter than your only getting 16X turnover rate. for reef you want more, for softies and LPS you want at least 15-20x turnover rate. for SPS you want even higher.
do you have a sump, if so whats the equipment, but based on what you ask you could either go with two smaller koralia place one on each end of tank, or go with one big one.

also do a search for them because they are rather large and invasive. I personally wont be buying one till they redesign it smaller but stil do the same job.

That is a #4 in my 75.
They are big,but not so big that you cant work with them.

I have two #3's in my 50 gal. on opposite sides of each other. I replaced two maxijet 1200's with the hydor koralia's.

#2's are 600 or 650. #3's are 850. Same size different props. The big guy in the pic is a #4.
2 of the #2 or #3 would be great depending on what corals you want in your tank. The flow is awesome. Comes out like a bell rather than one stream.
