powerheads

I am converting my tank over to a semi-reef/reef tank. I have a 92 gallon bowfront, I'm wondering what type, and how many powerheads I should have to maximize water movement. I have 2 powersweeps that are brand new however they are not fully submersible, they sit at the top. I would really like something that I can submerse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

It is submersible, however; dont you need to keep that air tube above water so it can suck in air and cause the powerhead to rotate (so you can only submerse it like 2 or 3 inches right?)
I want something I can submerse about 10 to 12 inches down in my tank.

Yeah i know what your talking about. My friend has one and it has this like 1 and a half inch tube that comes out the top, and it needs to have acess to air for the sweeping motion to happen.

I have one I never installed the top yet it moves back a forth. I don't believe it needs it to rotate. You should be able to have it 6 or more inches below and still rotate.

u dont need to have the tube above water. the tube has nothing to do with the motion. just make sure you clean the powerhead regularly or it will clog up and stop rotating. i had 2 for a few months and just gave up on them after a while.
