i think i just scored 7 PPE's on a colony of zoos i bought from my lfs today . thing is they almost looked pink with pale green skirts under their pc lighting.when igot them home an got them under my MH's they definatly look more purple and darker green. still they dont look as vibrant as some that ive seen on here. is there a chance they lost their color or could they color up more over time, is there any any theng i can do as far as placement to help. i am fairly positive thats what they are unless there is something that resembles them that closely .i will try to get pics tommorow . i hope i'm right !!! I only payed 25.00 for the colony plus what might be PPE's

Try placing them farther down in tank. Zoanthellae production changes with light availability. More light (higher in tank) means it takes less of them to do the job, less light (deeper in tank) means it takes more of them to do the job.
That's a real basic idea of photosynthetic symbiotic relationships.

When the polyps are closed you can usually see white vertical lines around any PE. Jokers look very close, only difference is that the mouth is bright green on PPE. PPE can look brown/pink under 10k bulbs. If you are running MH place them lower in the tank or you will start to get speckles on them. Looking forward to seeing the pics

don't want to be a downer, but not PPE. PPE only have a green mouth, no green circle around the mouth. I'll see if I can find IDs in the AM. Even though not PPE, they are still nice.
