Preferred salt brand

What is everyone's preferred brand of salt? It's getting time to buy more and I was wondering if there is a true noticable difference. I have been using oceanic.

I like Reef Crystals... Did try Oceanic for about 6 months... did like how it dissolved, but corals responded better with Reef Crystals so switched back!!!

i use reef crystals. but i wouldn't recommend switchings salt brands very often. It's not like switching cereals. Your tank will become more successful if you keep consistancy

I've been using Instant Ocean since I started, so I guess that's where I'm staying. So far, I've had good luck with it and I find it easy to use.

hey Brycewood - I've used 3-4 brands over the past 15 years and I still like Tropic Marin best.

What do you guys pay roughly for a gallon's worth of sand? I know it's cheaper in bulk.

around 20 bucks for a bag of crystals. 55gal worth

I buy Instant Ocean as far as I can tell alot more ppl use it than others but thats just from roaming this board. I buy it at 160 gallon tubs at a time running around $45 a tub.

Ive been using Red Sea. No probs with it so far so i guess ill stick with it. I paid around $40 for a 200 gallon bucket. :happyfish

The thing I saw is alot of ppl dont like the red sea. Im not sure why its something to do with the contents in it the way it effects the outcome of the water. And something like every bucket is diffrent.

I use Oceanic. Works fine for me and my softies love it.
