Preparing for vacation

I have left my tank for awhile before while on vacation but this will be the longest I will be away. Almost 2 weeks this time. I plan on doing a water change the day before vacation and I have an automatic feeder to feed 1 time a day, my lights are on timers. I just started using PhosGuard but it says to only leave it in for 4 days but then it says you can leave it in to help control phosphates longer. Would it be alright to leave the phosguard in for my entire vacation time or will I make phosphates even worse?

I would never leave my tank for two weeks without someone to check on it at least a couple times a week.
What if the power were to go off, you would be SOL.
What are your plans for replacing evaporated water?
I would take the phosguard out, if it becomes saturated it will start leaching phosphates back into the water.
I am leaving for a week and I have a housitter stay at my house. (of course I have a dog and a cat that have to be looked after also).

If there was someone I could trust to watch my tank for me I would have them watch it but I don't. I do worry a little but a power outage won't be that bad because once the power comes back everything goes back to running, same as if I am around, I have glass tops over my tank so I don't get that much evaporation, but what I am doing is slowly lowering my SG until I leave and then the evaporation will slowly raise it back up over time, just hopefully not too high.
I guess I should remove the PhosGuard and not replace it again until after my vacation...
