Price of saltwater

Just curious what everyone pays for saltwater from the store per gallon.
Also if you use all salt water from the lfs does it negate the cyle.
Just curious.

I don't buy pre-made saltwater. I tend to trust it more if I mix it. But for a 5 gallon tank of DI water I pay $1.50

it wont effect your cycle at all.

just make sure the new water you buy is as close
as the one in the tank(salinity,ph,ect) or better yet
dont be lazy and mix your own

my lfs that sells the pre-made salt water rips people off
they sell it for 1.50 a gallon
they sell ro for .50 gallon
I don't buy to much from there because they charge twice as much as it should be
Green chromis for 9.99
branch rock for 9.99 lb
figi that looks like base rock for 6.00 lb
base rock is 3.50 lb
they charged me 2.50 lb for reef rubble
and 3.00 lb for live sand

I forgot to mention that its ocean water and its $.50 a gallon. Seemed like a good deal to me.

.24 cents per gallon at one place I frequent or
.29 cents per gallon at a Meijer or
.49 cents per gallon at a LFS.

It seems to be better and cheaper to mix yoru own saltwater; plus you know what kind og h2o is use originally.

I sell my RO/DI for .25 a gallon and RO/DI mixed with Instant Ocean for .75 a gallon.

Kent pre-mixed from LFS: $.50 p/gal, minus a 10% discount....
Sure, may be cheaper in the long-run to buy a big 'ol bucket and mix it myself. But this gives me an excuse to go to the shop and "browse".. hee hee..
