I got my Kent Maxima RO/DI unit 35 GPD for $180.00
If you buy you water at .50 cents and you own a 75 gal tank, you will spend 180.00$ a year, doing two 20% changes(Top off included). Time is the asset of making your own water though. Its alot easier going to the sink than to wally world.

Check your local Sears store. We found a last year's model that was usually $229 for $79. It provides us with about 15 gallons a day.
