Printers?

Well T316 has shown his "thriftiness" now I am showing mine. What type of printers are good ones? Or I should say, which printers are the cheapest to use, you know where the ink cartridge lasts? The quality today is good enough for me. I can't tell the difference between 1200 dpi. and 2400 dpi. We do print pictures with it.
HP seems to be taking over the market, and they also have cartridges that last just long enough for you to align the print heads, then time to go get another cartridge.

Hello my friend, the higher DPI will obviously give you a more sharper image. I personally love the EPSONS.. I just bought an EPSON all in one.
I just got this one. I love it!

Try a triple blade Schick with....wait, you said printer

I will throw this out there. The past couple that I have had are Dell, which I don't recommend. I have had no problems with the printer, but rather the ink. You can only get it from DELL
If you are printing a lot of pictures, you will be ordering from them constantly.

We have a gift card from them from when we ordered our laptop. My wife mentioned about using it to buy a printer and this is the exact reason I gave for NOT buying the printer from them.

ok it has to be said... the human eye can NOT see the difference between 1400 and 2400dpi the only time that comes into play are on VERY large images like billboards, but even if the picture takes up the entire 8.5x11" piece of paper... you still wont be able to tell 1400 or 2400 so go for less dpi, not crazy like 200dpi lol but 1400 dpi should be more than efficient.

SilverDark's right; the human eye will form smooth pictures even as low 600 dpi when the image is held as close as 6" from your face.

I just bought a HP Deskjet F2210. Nothing flashy, just a basic, all-in-one. I think it cost me 40 clams (littleneck, not crocea
). I couldn't be happier with it!

SD and RL, OK you two don't tanke this the wrong way. When I talked about the dpi numbers basically what I was saying was "Any printer now a days is good enough, I can't distinguish the quality differences for what I am using it for" I have been here long enough to know if you don't say something like that one person will recommend a printer, and another person will say that printer is not good enough because it does not represent the blue hues well enough or some other reason. Now here you two are discussing what dpi is acceptable. Hey I just pulled those numbers out of the air anyway.
RL and Dragon, I just bought a HP F4280 and it is a good printer, the problem is the cartridges don't last long. I hate that you can go to the store and spend 18 for a cartridge, or spend 30 for the exact same cartridge with more ink in it. Why don't you pack the fcartridge full of ink and charge me 18?
We had a Canon for years that had big ole cartridges that were full of ink. I can't remember why we had to change printers. Probably me being stupid and wanting keep up with technology.

Here in the film industry and my friend owns a model composite printing business, they ONLY USE Epson. They are always printing hi def output and high dpi.. but these are images used in the photo fashion industry.
