Prizm Protein Skimmer ?

OK i just got my Skimmer today. Well Tons of micro bubbles and lots of noise coming from the air intake tube??? IS this normal at first? Ive never done a saltwater tank before so this is my first protien skimmer. Plus the foam that im getting doesnt seen to be dirty. Like the water that builds at the top is really clear water?? Am I doing something wrong?

yo yamaha,
ive had my prizm for about 6 mos and it runs ok. i was new to skimmers myself and with time it eventually started to produce some nasty looking stuff. sounds like you have it turned up too high. i would lesson the flow and allow the bubbles in the chamber just to creep up very slowly. you'll notice that over time the bubbles kind of spill over and the foam that is collected is extremely dirty. i get clear foam if the flow is too high too.
