prizm skimmer question?

do they go inside or outside the tank .in your opinion what is better the prism or seaclone?

They hang on the outside. I just got a prism and it seems to be doing a good job and its pretty quiet. Don't really know anything about the seaclone.

seems to be a personal preference...older seaclones had some design flaws that could be fixed by owners...the newer ones took care of it...the prizms are said to make too much noise sometimes, but taken care of by ordering the better impeller...sea clones tend to be cheaper & rated for maybe 10 gallons or so if you want to go by mfg. #'s...

I have had a prizm for a few months now and it does a great job.I have mine hanging off back,don't know if you could hang it inside.

Hi,
They hang on the outside. You should check into a CPR bakpak, you can put your heater inthe bio chamber to get it out of the tank. Also, aquaC remora is a great skimmer. just my .02

i really think the prizm is probably better. when i worked at the lfs that is the skimmer that i referred every customer to because its price was not to high and it serves it purpose well.

my lfs a just reef store in nashua nh advised a remora pro and they said the prizm is ok but the recommended the remora pro. (price is more expensive but they dont always recommend the more expensive stuff)
