Prizm skimmer?

I just recently installed a prizm skimmer on my 72 and don't think it is working. All I get in the collection cup is water. Anybody know what the problem could be?

Turn the knob back until it is almost closed and then make fine adjustments. It will take a few days to break in! If you open the knob to much right away you will just get water! Be patient. Also contact read sea and have them send you an 18 blade impeller (its free) Good luck

I am using a Prizm skimmer myself. When I first installed it, I hated the noise but now I am used to it. Once you get used to how your skimmer operates, you can make the fine adjustments by opening or closing the gate. If it is open too much, your cup will fill up fast and as mine did at first, water will go everywhere. Now, I change my cup about 2 times per week. Another tip is to close the gate when you feed and add additives to your tank ie.. calcium, iron, etc. But, don't forget to open it again after about 30 min.

Yes I had the same problem the first day or two lots of water in the cup. It is correct that for it to work properly the flow control must be almost closed (just open a hair) and then it works like a champ. I get a nice greenish brown goop out of mine, and isn't that the true test of success a nice greenish brown goop from our skimmers lol.

I just called Red Sea for my new impeller, cool Thanks for that tip. How does it work? Does it inject more air or what?

When did they come out with the new impeller and what difference does it make to the skimmer's performance? Notice any difference?

I got the Prizm too,can you tell me what it does if you change de impeller?
