Prizm Skimmer

I have this thing and had it for a year now. It seems to not be skimming anything. I know there is stuff to be skimmer because i have 5 fish and there is hair algae in the tank. What do I need to do. I adjusted it like they say but I dunno please I need your help!

i have heard that some skimmers just dont work and that you need to ask around what kind of simmer other people have before buying. i dont know this for sure b/c i currently dont have one but have heard others with the same problem. hope i helped but probably not likely.

Give it a good cleaning & make sure the air tube is not plugged. I've had a Prism for over a year and it works great. I do have to clean it often though.

I have to empty the goo out of mine every other day. It works great. All I do is rinse it out with hot water every once in a while. Had mine for over a year with no problems.

my prizm never really skimmed anything but greenish water either. my in sump skimmer however makes what looks like choclate sauce... go figure.

So what do you guys recommend a new skimmer?

Well thanks and yes it has to be a hang on becuase I have a refugium instead of a sump. So I believe that I just have to give it a good cleaning.
