Prizm skimmers

Personally i hate my prizm. I have to constantly readjust it. Otherwise, it fills the tank with bubbles, or doesnt skim at all. I dont recomend them.

Todd, I have a Seaclone150 on my 125g. It works fine despite the poor reviews here. I make sure to empty the cup every couple of days and clean the prefilter once a week. I haven't had any problems with it. Thank God because I can't replace it even if I wanted to. The Seaclone is only 4 inches wide. I put my tank too close to the wall with only about 1/2 inch clearance so I can't get anything bigger than that. There's no way I can move my tank even a couple of inches.

Scoobydoo, i bought a seacone 150 and was wandering if it has to break in. Where should i set the adjust screw to, not sure how much bobbles are suppost to come out into the tank. Any input on adjustments would be cool.

Bill, if I recall right it took a couple days to break in. With a new tank, new water, and cycling, there's really nothing in the water for it to take out. Now, I empty it every other day and its usually half full with sludge. I keep my valve pretty much all the way open.

ya, i forgot to mention the noise level. My prizm is really loud. I dont have the money to get anything better so it will have to work for now. Good luck with the seaclone!

Thanks Scoobydoo, The more i open my valve the more bubbles i get in my tank. Does this make any sence to you? My tank has been going for about 6 months now. This hobby is alot of fun..... And pricey..

Thanks Billy

Billy, I don't have trouble with bubbles. Try turning it down a little and see what happens. Also, check you water level and salinity. I believe it works better with a salinity of 1.23-25.

Blemmy - I got a SeaClone 100 for my 55. I ran it for over a week and it collected NOTHING! I got it for around $60 and felt like it wasn't worth $5. Luckily, I bought it at a PetsMart and they've got a great return policy.
Since then, I got an AquaC Remora. It already collected foam within 12 hours of being hooked up!
Good luck with the SeaClone if you win your auction. I've heard of some people having success with them.
