does anyone have a prizm skimmer? how often do u remove that top collection cup part and detach it from the air tube? it seems that in time the air tube will break...
please advise...

I used to empty at least once a week. Something happened and how its not skimming like it used to. I cant seem to get it adjusted right anymore.
Anyhow, that airline is replaceable. It just pulls out from the other end. Just get airline from the LFS, snip it to the length you need, and pop it back on. The entire thing comes apart quite easily.

no way in is it better then the sea clone..imo both suck but my sea clone pulls almost double what the prizm does

i just read people complaing of sounds, etc.. and hard to clean the seaclone...
please advise..

hmm i think the prizm is louder........you should clean both every week........i find them both high mantianance.................but so are most skimmers

if it were me i would spare the money and get alot nicer skimmer

I agree with reefer44. I'm actually considering selling my prizm for a higher quality skimmer.
As for noise levels, I guess it may be loud to some people, but the it doesnt bother me.

hmm see all i can do is exchange it rite now for a seaclone or prizm.. from *****..

so i will try a seaclone only cuz i hate the huge collection cup and stupid air tube on a prizm..
hope seaclone is better..
if theres no foam on the cups, does it still need skimming??

ive used both but now have a real skimmer. IMO both suck, but I liked the prism better. Just my 2cents

i already got the seaclone.. i duno, everyone likes one or the other.. it realy sux..
i jus hope mines will work.. i mean, *****, petsmart, and all the bigger stores only sell seaclone.. u would think if it was so bad, no store would want a defective product and it would have stopped being manufactured..
also, b4 a company releases a product, they do thorough testin, cuz obviously they need to spend to make it too..
anyways, this is messsd upppppppppp.. :mad:
i need some positive feedback on seaclones... whatthewho!@!

i remove the top skimmer once a week... i am very happy with my prizm... and i think you will be too once you finally get it calibrated right lol. Takes a good amount of time to calibrate it correctly.

I have had my Seaclone 100 running for 5 mos. now and it works great. Sometimes it can get loud if the collection tube leans against the tank, but I just put a piece of foam in between the two.

well i installed my seaclone 100. it seems in one night it skimmed half an inch of green sh*t. so im assumin its workin. it also seemed to work better than my prism and is less complicated..
go seaclone.. why do people downplay the seaclone? it worked for me rite away.. :cheer:
