problems with E-ballast

I just purchased new e-ballasts and they are interfering with our TV reception. When The ballasts are running the TV screens get "snowy". Any input??? I tried putting a filter on the tv and coaxial cable for the tv--no luck..........
I am planning on having a couple dedicated circuts put in for the tank...would this fix my problem?
got to get this fixed... I think my family likes tv better than the reef keeping

No gurantee this will work but ground your bulbs to the ballast. A piece of aluminum somewhat near the bulbs connected to a wire and screwed onto the metal case of the ballast.
Your other option is to get an IceCap. I believe SWF.COM sells them for a fair price.

i didn't think I have ever had a problem with the hair dryer---but on closer review--there is a very small amount of static--will try the grounding thing
The other weird thing is that it doesn't happen when I have a digital cable channel tuned in --It only happens when I have one of the local channels on--I know this is stupid--but I am totally dumb when it come to electricity...why would I only have the static on certain channels?

every channel broadcasts on a different frequency. your ballast interferes on the frequency that it is putting out with the tv. your locals must somehow match your ballast closely on these channels. a dedicated circuit may help. try running a extention cord to the lights from a circuit you know is not on with the tv. i have a few other suggestions if this doesnt work.

How close is the ballast and lights to the tv? And you're saying it only happens on local channels received on antenna? or cable as well? If it is on the antenna, it may just be EMI (electromagnetic interference) which you could fix by using a emi shield. They just have metal that is a good carrier of magnetic lines of force. Try the others first though, ofcourse; it would be easier. Just another possible source, if the others don't work.
