Problems with Green hair algae

I have a 125 long tank. About 120 # sand, about 170 # rock. various soft corals, about 5 fish, a couple stars, lots of little snails, 2 shrimp, a few crabs, had only 1 turbo snail but just finally added 4 more. I know my mh lights are way overdue to be replaced. Would it be only the old lights causing this green hair algae or could it be something else? I can provide additional info as necessary. Just trying to get things under control. Been kinda broke to replace the bulbs (kinda expensive) but hope to replace them soon. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

hair algea loves light and nutrients in your tank
try to manually remove what u can then let a good clean up crew take care of the rest , mexican american turbos are great , also green emerald crabs, sea hares , lmb,s
most importantly keep up on water changes and weakly maintanance

EASY!!!!!! Just turn your tank into a seahorse tank!!!!! Horses love algae!!! :happyfish
No more need to clean off excess macro algae!!!! The pods love it too, which is a seahorse's favorite snack.

I'm getting ready to do a couple of water changes here soon. Maybe I'll up the water changes. Hoping to get new lights soon. Maybe I'll get an emerald crab.
