nope, no dolphins here, lol and sorry if i came across that way, i just want to be sure the facts were tehre, ane that someone else was not starting things, sorry again, like i said, both are good, and i will stand by that, and i felt that you were saying dsb's were bad and deadly so i wnated to make sure that the facts were that they are no longer considered as such, but anyhow, thanks for hte debate, especially since it did stay peaceful
for the record, i have never used a plenum, that is one method i have not tried, for the reasons i have stated, BUT liek yours i do know of others that have and have been verysuccessful, so they do work well too, but i have tried most others and am more than satisfied with the dsb and lr
so anyway
PEACE

Ok, just my 2 cents.
I have a 4 1/2" DSB with lr for 2 years and never had a problem. It works very well for me. :D

O.K. I guess since both ways have there drawbacks
I AM IN BIG TROUBLE !!!! becouse I have 1" to 2" in my main tank and a DSB in my refugium
MY SYSTEM IS BOUND TO CRASH!!!!!! <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />

Another DSB testimonial..
I changed from CC to a 4" DSB after my tank had already cycled. I was showing a trace of Phos. and was having trouble with my pH prior to the switch. Now I have a very stable pH and no detectable Phos. My tank looks overall much better and I love not having to siphon the CC. Time will tell, but so far so good!

Well, Susan, not wanting to burst your dreams of having a jawfish, but I have to say...jawfish and DSB are not really compatable. Unless you have a hugh tank and only 1 jawfish. Jawfish prey upon the infauna of the DSB, thus crippling it [the DSB I mean...not the jawfish :D ]
