I have a 50 gallon tank and a sump with protein skimmer. It seems that if I crank the skimmer up enough to creat bubbles, the bubbles make it to the sump and into the tank. Therefore the tank is cloudy with bubbles if I run my skimmer.
With that said, I am new to the aquarium world and dont know my
from my

Thanks in advance for any advice.

its going to be in the adjustments of the skimmer you want just enough bubbles in the chamber to suspend the protein in the bubbles it may take alittle while for enough protein to build up and collect in the cup though. running it full blast is whats causeing the bubbles though.
do you have baffles in your sump?

do you ahve dividers in the sump tank at different levels like the water would go over the first baffle and under the next one into another chamber. aso if it has baffles where is your return pump compared to the skimmer?
