Guys and Girls,
I need help! I just purchased a protein skimmer Bak-Pak 2R and I'm being invaded by tiny, tiny bubbles. there on the walls on the skimmer and on the fish too!
Has this happened to anyone else and if so what can I do.

There should be 2 hose connections on your skimmer, you have to switch the hose and let it run a while to get the air out of the system and prime the chambers then switch it over for normal operation if that has been done then its possible you have the flow rate to high on your skimmer. Try ajusting it lower.

We tried to switch hoses but can't one isn't long enough.
We also can't adjust it, at least we don't know how too!

Sometimes it takes 1-2 weeks for the skimmer to break in. Microbubbles can be a result of this initial break in period.

So what should I do? leave it on or shut it off?
The guy @ LFS said if it continues to shut it off and bring it in and he'll tweak it.
These are tiny, tiny micro-bubbles, I'm afraid of Pop-Eye.

I'd let it break in first. Tweaking is ok, but sometimes it creates more problems...Look at the "U-Tube" thread....

Hello,
With my bak-pak skimmer I installed a down pipe for the water return to reduce bubbles and also put a filter sponge on the top to block the bubbles. Hope this helps.
