protein skimmer for sharks

heard its a good idea. any suggestions on the type of skimmer to buy? right now i have a 90 gallon that will house a coral cat shark for 6-9 months (shark is 10 inches right now), upgrading in the future, cant decide on a 180 or bigger. thanks for the help. also i have a rena xp3 canister filter.

yikes, I am not sure how well your coral cat will do in your 90 as it is, but I would get the biggest skimmer you can. The Coralife ones work well.
I would definitely go bigger than a 180 as well.

I had an aqua c on my smaller tank when I got my 180 I got a asm and it made a pretty big difference in foam and collection check those skimmers out.

i know the coral cats are rated for min tank size of 180 but i would go 210 at least if you can 6 ft tank.as for your cansiter filter i may not be enough to keep up with the waste from you shark as it gets older.they are very messy eaters. as far as a good protien skimmer I like the nautilus by kent although I now use a venturi i had good results with my nautilus te until i broke it .hubby wanted to keep the external venturi we purchased used from our LFS(we litterally took if of there tanks lol) while my nautilus was being replaced.but the natilous te is rated for up to 300 gal while the nautilus ex was rated up to 400.good price very good results
