Protein Skimmer is HUGH

:needhelp: Ok, I purchased a ASM- G Series in sump protein skimmer for my 75 gal tank. It arrived and it is HUGH.... My question is, it is rated for up to 150 gal tank. It will fit in sump w/pump but will be a tight fit. Do you think this is going to be too big for my system or should I get one that is rated for a smaller tank? Any input would be appreciated

Bigger is always better, if you can fit it, keep it. Not only will it be more efficient on your current system, but it will also allow you to upgrade your tank in the future, and reuse the existing skimmer.

Sounds like you got a GS1-X which is a good skimmer for your tank...
Need to reralize not all skimmer "ratings" are optimal... (think of the Sea Clone 100 or 150 ...:D )
Comparable in size and preformance to the Euro Reef CS5-2... a 75 gallon tank is "just right" for this skimmer..

 Squidd and Cmack, thanks for the input. That makes me feel much better. :D I will go ahead and set up this weekend, which should be interesting as I am not equipment savvy at all. It is a plug in and go so I should be able to handle that! :)
