Protein Skimmer Issues

Hello,
Every time I start my skimmer up, it starts bubbling up over the top. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? I have to take the top off to clean the bubbles and foam out. It is a Seaclone 100 skimmer

They take 3-4 days to break in and you should be fine. On another note if you treated the tank for red slime it will probally take a good 10 days for your skimmer to return to normal.

i had a seaclone and finally decided to get rid of it. it skimmed ok most of the time but every time i stuck my hand in the tank it would spew micro bubbles for days. i just got tired of messing with it.

I've had a seaclone for about a month now ... I can never get the setting right. It either bubbles out of control or none at all ... it's really annoying actually.

SORRY BUT YOU NEED TO TOSS IT. THEY ARE JUNK. But if you wan't it to work some what cut the inner riser tube in the collection cup, drop a wooden air stone in there and change the little knob with a better one (the one that adjusted the air flow).

I also have a seaclone 100 and I think it is a piece of poop... I can never get the ting to work properly and was wondering what the best skimmer for the money is without breaking the bank???

I have an octopus hob bh100 it is incredibly well priced, and works great out of the box. The break in period is only a few hours, just set it low at first so it skims wet and then slowly adjust it until you are skimming pretty dry. It produces the nastiest skimmate I've ever tasted
