Protein skimmer - Just for Nitrates?

Man great posting guys. I see what both of you meant, and I totally understand why dino tried to clarify because of the nature of the post and what the original intent was. Although I personally wouldn't think adding a skimmer could be detrimental to a system, i could see how someone who knew nothing could look at your first post and say "jesus I dont' want that to be taken out."
