Protein skimmer not workin ?

Jsut bought a protein skimmer for my tank this weekend and installed it on saturday. it is a BERLIN airlift 60 for an airpump i bought a profile 2900. After 3 days or so the thing has bairly collected any "stuff" at all and normally when i feed my fish i've been watching the foam and it rairly if ever seems to be near the top of the skimmer. I installed it per instructions and it is at the proper water level. Any suggestions. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />
I'm thinking i might return it for a powerhead to help cirrculate the tank better and maybe in the future use it that for something else.

Can you set the unit a bit deeper into the water??? I had a similar unit before,and it was VERY dificult to adjust.And water level has alot to do with it.

I tried lowering it down this morning, at first it pushed way to much foam into the cup now its kinda backed off. I have the mark on the skimmer about 3/4 inch below the water.

This type of skimmer is VERY sensitive to water level.Even 1/4 inch will make a major diference in the way it works.So it really needs to be played with almost daily.Even evaporation will mess with it.This is why I got rid of mine...Just too much trouble.But when they work,they do work well...

I had had the same problem I bought a stronger pump and it worked but you will need to adjust the flow.

thanks for the info but i just said oh well and removed it. i haven't had a problem in a while i just thought it would be some extra piece of mind when i go away for weekends and such. hopefully the place i bought it will at least give me some credit for it.
