I am not sure how that takes air in, but make sure that there is nice flow of air into it. Another thing, it could be that you don't have much waste in your tank, but thats probably not the case. I have a home made skimmer, its a beast, so I am not sure how your model works, but when I have similar problem, its because water is getting into the air tube.

mess around with the blue knob. Turn it to let more air in. If you turn it all the way to let max air in it will fill with water so just mess around with it until you get the desired amount of foam. Do you have your tank filled to the water line on the tunze?

On the outside of the skimmer or at least on mine there is a wave mark near the top of the skimmer that water should reach. Do you have a in sump skimmer or one that goes in the tank?

With any skimmer, the only thing that really makes the amount of gunk flow is the amount of bubbles the air intake makes. The method of air to water ratio is different for every skimmer, but make sure that you are at least making bubbles, after that, max the bubbles out by messing with the intake valve. If you don't have one, adjust the water level so that the bubble line is a little below the top of the collection cup. this allows the "crud" to detach from popped bubbles and collect on the plastic or whatever material the skimmer is made of, creating a nice gunk. research how the skimmer works, once you do that, the method you take to fix it will come automatically. Good luck bud!
