but if you look closely at the skimmer body itself you will see the bubble production inside the body is nill
I completely missed this, with this evidence you are correct in stating it is a mechanical problem

It's cool Florida Joe....when I use to work at a LFS anybody the owner did sell these to, and they would come back and complain, I would tell them to bring it back and credit them the price on a new skimmer....They are just a hassle to keep operating correctly.
