we have a protein skimmer in 90 gallon tank. Dirty water that is coming out is about quart, quart 1/2 daily. bought this tank used. Just added a ro/di water filter to tank.
are water changes still needed? the water, fish, coral and live rock look great. keep checking salinity and adding when needed. the only problem we have is red slime algae now.
thanks for your help.

What do you mean to the tank?? It's not hooked up to the tank is it??
Water changes are an important part of maintenance. You will always need to do water changes IMO.

ro/di water comes to the filter tank when the water is low it pushes up to the tank. there is a water overflow top of fish tank so water cannot overflow.
The filter is connected to our main water tank and only the filtered water goes into tank.
I hope I explained it correctled

just read through the post on red slime - it seems that there is no one answer - -what works for one person does not work for the other.

As with everything in this hobby :).
A good start is to increase flow and eliminate excess nutrients.
