protein skimmer

I recently bought a visi jet protein skimmer for a 25 gallon tank and it is blowing a large amount of tiny bubbles into the tank. Does anyone have this type of protein skimmer or know if this is common for a protein skimmer to do during the first few days. I may have it set up wrong???????

There is a break in period to all skimmers. Does it have any adjustment knobs on it? I do not have one, but it is not uncommon for them to do this. I put my skimmer in the sump so I did not have to look at the bubbles.

It has a water flow adjustment knob and and air flow adjustment knob. If I turn the water flow all the way down it still creates a large amount of bubbles. I have air flow all the way open. Is this correct?

I just received the Aqua C and it's doing the same thing (many tiny bubbles in the water). The instructions with the skimmer state that this is common for between 1 and 2 weeks while the unit is acclimating. I have no settings on mine so I'll have to wait and see. The only item I can adjust is the height of the collection cup (which I'm still working on getting right). Too low and it collects a lot of water, too high and it won't collect much of anything.

After the breakin period you can start really making the proper adjustments. At that time you should be able to adjust it to a point that eliminates most of bubbles and still gets a good skimmate. Check your collection cup regularly, especially at first when your trying to get adjusted.
