protein skimmer

I have a 55 gallon tank with a CPR bakpak. The skimmer I have not is starting to mess up. I am looking into getting a new one but I don't know what kind to get. Can someone please help me I want a pretty good one that would be reliable and is a hang on back perfered.
Please help me out need to know ASAP want to order today

i heard the octopus hang on skimmer works well, but i don'[t have any experience with it. i've used an aqua-c remora before though, and i thought it was terrible.

I love my octopus it pumps out nearly black skimmate for me. It is incredibly easy to adjust, works right out of the box, and is priced really well. Hang on octos have been called bak-paks on steroids.

There you go again Doug, dissing my Aqua C. I do plan on getting the MSX 160 though for my sump. BTW what size tank did you use the remora on?

I have seen different models of the octo. what model do you guys recommend for a 55 gallon reef. Mostly all corals with 3 fish.

you know it! they are not going to get away with my 163 dollars that easy. it's going to cost them about 20 years of bad publicity.

for the octo hang-on, i'd go with the HB 800S. if not, then atleast the BH 2000.

I am currently using the Aqua-C Pro with Mag3 and prefilter. It serves my SWA pretty well but I am still looking for a better HOB skimmer if there is one. Is there anyone here who used both the Octopus and Aqua-C that can give an unbiased review?

I was going to do a sump with a octo NW150 in stead i'm going to buy a good HOB.
I was looking at Warner Marine or Octo HOB's anyone have experience with them??
A friend of mine just got a used Deltec MCE300 for a $140!!!
I'll let you know how it skimms after a week or so..
