Personally I think you can get by without one. If you decide to get one the Aqua C Remora is nice.

Hey I havent set my aquarium up yet but I will be using the AquaC remora nano. It's rated for tanks 5-25 gallons. It doesnt have the skimmer box like the larger ones but I think it will still get the job done. Marineandreef.com had the lowest price. Like $135 or so.

Just keep up with at least 10% water changes weekly and you will be fine. Don't waste your money on a cheap skimmer either.

lots of nano tanks dont use them. Check out threads in archives. I don't use one, just keep up with water changes.
