protein skimmer????

What would be the best one for a 46gal bowfront?
No sump, no predrilled holes.
It would have to be a HOB.
Any suggestions?

I personally love my AquaC. It has worked fantastic for me. Although I don't remember what I paid for it. Hope this helps a little

i hv both the aqua c and octopus. the octopus is much better. spend like $150-170, and u will get a much better skimmer. the octopus bh 1000 ($150) is quiet too, with the pump located outside the tank.

The AquaC remora is $160 new,you can find them for $100 or so used but man those thing are LOUD and i don't think it with preform better then the octo.

Mine is not loud & I've had no problems with it. This hobby is just like everything else in life, you can ask for advice and then make the best decision for you. And I am in no way saying you should listen to me or anyone else on here. A lot of the things we know were learned from trial and error. I'm a firm believer that not everyone will have the same outcome or experience. We all work towards a common goal but all have different ways of getting there. If you can't afford a 150 - 200 dollar skimmer, then get what you can afford. And with that being said, this is an expensive hobby and some things you just can't skimp on.

Remember to consider where your protein skimmer is going and its foot print it is not always about price
