Protein Skimmer

I currently have a 75 gal reef set up with sump. I'm running a coralife 220 protein skimmer and looking to up grade as I'm not very happy with it. So I'm looking for ideas. I have a friend looking to sell off his stuff and he has a Marineland Pro 100 with this be any better. Any ideas would be great
