I have never heard of that brand name. Do you mean SeaClear or SeaClone? Oncean is not a brand name I'm familiar with.
Bump and hope this helps.

Ditch it and get something better. Seaclones are perhaps the absolute worst skimmers on the market, sold to beginner hobbyists that don't know any better. Heck, even I made that mistake when I just started in aquaria six years ago. lol.

I have had 4 Seaclones.....IMO ...NO they are not the best....BUT also IMO....they do the job for a new set up.....so if you already have one, and your tank is new, you will be okay for a while
you have to make sure the water in the long tube looks like a tornado.....go to you tube....you will find A LOT of videos on what it is supposed to look like.....you just adjust the little air tube until you achieve that....BUT you have to give it time to adjust.....so adjust airtube....wait 24 hours....and then IF NEEDED adjust again
ONCE you start getting more stuff in your tank....can if you are going to get into corals...THEN YES.....you definitely need a better skimmer

Right! i'm pissed! i didn't even think twice about it.. I thought they were all the same; Couple people have told me they arent the best( from other forms).. and ok the "tornado" is what i been trying to make it look like but, sometimes it goes away. is that normal? then i just have to adjust it again.. is that why its bad? what is it suppose to do. IK there many forms but a quick exspo. would be great..

Well it should have the tornado...and it will make foam go into the cup.....
If I remember correctly I had to adjust it quite often...NOT DAILY....BUT more then any of the new skimmers I upgraded to....SEACLONES...are NOT the best....probably at the bottom of the list, BUT what I was saying is.....for a fairly new....low stocked tank....it should be fine for now.....

Eshopps and Coralife makes decent HOB skimmers for a good price if you're interested.
Not Coralife HOB...no, no, no, no....it's the worst skimmer I ever had...it leaks, it send 1000s of microbubbles until the tank looks like it's foggy and it is the absolute hardest skimmer cup to remove and replace...it is a horrible skimmer. It isn't worth a plug nickle, I gave mine away with an apology to the poor person I unloaded it on..we spent days talking about the microbubbles..
I have never used Eshopps but don't get a Coralife. I was so disgusted with that skimmer, I wanted a sump so I would never have to bother with another HOB.

Op, if you install a coralife skimmer correctly, there are no microbubbles. If you are on a budget, get an eshopps, they are 20x better than a seaclone, on a budget.

On the Coralife skimmer....Mine was installed correctly after I figured out to submerge that stupid box all the way under water (that info was not in the instructions however)...then it leaked, so I ran a little air tube hose from the top nipple back into the tank where the water bubbled out every once in a while...removing the cup and replacing it was such a pain, and it never skimmed much. It is garbage...I had a Cyclone and it was better than the Coralife. It didn't skim any better, but it didn't flood the floor either. Micobubbles was the least of my problems with it.
Coralman05, I found out you have a 55g tank... since it's under 60g, get a Tunze nano skimmer....it goes inside the tank (it's a black box) and attaches with a magnet...5X3 and 9 inches tall, the cup sits above the tank top....that little skimmer is awesome and it only costs $150.00, well worth it too. It skims dark brown yuck within a few days break in period, and the cup just lifts out to dump and clean.
I have gone through about 5 skimmers trying to get one that did what it was designed to do.. So far I have found the Octopus 1000sss in sump, and the Tunze nano that I actually like. Skimmers have been my nemesis since I started running a SW tank.
