Protein skimmer

Hi, I have a 55 gallon corner tank and I am looking for a protein skimmer. Are the instant ocean or the Coralife super skimmer good? I am looking for a good skimmer at a reasonable price, and the reviews for skimmers are all over the place. Any help would be appreciated!

I'd look at the Reef Octopus HOB.....The other 2 mentioned I would spend the money on....Just my .02

I have read good things about the Deltec MCE 600. Pricey but worth the money according to those that have them.

Agree with you Henry.....Gemmy is quite pleased with hers, but I didn't mention the Deltec due to the price range he was hinting with the skimmers he mentioned in the original post.

I love the Deltec MCE 600. This skimmer is a beast and well worth the money. It runs quieter than the other skimmers I have had and it produces a nice, thick, stinky foam like no other skimmer I have tried. I have had the skimmer hooked up for a week and my water looks crystal clear and I am noticing a reduction in the green algae I have in my tank.
Now, the reef octopus was another skimmer I was considering and it is a good choice. I would not go with either of the skimmers that you mentioned. I have not heard good things about either one.
