Protein Skimmer

I accidentally broke my Prism Protein Skimmer, which i'm not all that sad about because the thing didn't work well at all, and am looking to buy a new skimmer for my tank. What is the best skimmer on the market right now for a 30 gallon tank that is under $250.

I would go with an Aqua C remora or urchin depending on whether you want it in a sump or hob.

I would go with the Remora. I have the Remora Pro on my 55 and I think its one of the better HOB skimmers.

cpr bak pak 2 r. has warked wonders on my 55

I second the CPR BP 2R. I have one on my 29 & love it.

I have a CPR2 Bakpak on my 15 gallon propagation tank and it does an amazing job, sometimes I think better than my Aqua C EV-120 on my 58 gallon tank, although I think that may be as much to do with fine tuning or the right pump as anything else.
The BakPak 2R just seems much easier to fine tue to get the skimmate viscocity that you are looking for. Although I have to admit that I do not clean the BakPak nearly as often as the Aqua C as the Aqua C is on my main tank.
