i have a 55 gal tank and i dont have a Protein Skimmer i read everywhere that i need one so i am looking to get one and i found one that i think might be a good one for a good price its a sea-clone 100 but i dont have a sump tank and it has the option to just hook it to your tank directly do i have to get a sump tank will it be more beneficial in the future and how hard is it to set up a sump tank what is involved

A sump provides a seperate space for all of your equipment (heaters, skimmer, etc) so your tank is less cluttered. It also gives you more water volume which can help in stability.
You don't need on, but they are nice to have. There are a lot of nice hang-on skimmers like the Aqua-C Remora, and the CPR bak-pak which are pretty decent for the price.

paint the back black. Get the biggest Bio wheel system you can fit and a CPR BaK Pak 2 skimmer and you will be good to go. Just keep up on water changes.

You need about 40 more pounds of live rock. That will help with nitrates which are probably casuing your algae bloom. How long have you had the tank? Your anenome is dying. Has it turned all wgite like bleached looking? Get your lighst fixed. How long do you leave your lights on for? Skip the 5 gallon canges and 50% monthly. Gt in the habit of 15 gallon every week.

i am planning on geting more rock when my w2 comes in
my anemone is still light tan with purple tips but is shrunken and the other side of him (the bottom) is white and he turns over at night so his white side is up
my lights are on about 9 hrs a day should i shorten the time ?

is Jebo skimmer a good one

I heard there junk unless you mod them some how

I run a HOB Remora Pro because I dont have the room under my stand for an in-sump skimmer.
I love the Remora. Kinda pricy at $220 but it does an awesome job for a HOB skimmer.
Sea-Clones are junk as well.

you should skimp out on filtration. Its the entire tank. That doesnt work well then your fish will pay for it. You should either pony up the buck or sell your system and play nintendo wii
