Protien Skimmer Problems. Ideas???

My protein skimmer won’t make foam. I used to have it directly in my 30G sump but one of the walls silicone broke and I had to take it out since the water level always changed.
So I had to place it on some blocks above the sump so I could have the return water piped over the lip of the sump. I believe the pump is strong enough. It’s only pumping a little bit higher than before.
Has anyone had a similar problem before that might have some ideas??? Is it the plumbing or is it the skimmer or just not a strong enough pump??? PLEASE HELP. I have been without a working Skimmer for weeks now.

If its an in sump skimmer and you have it pulling water up above tank than thats probably the problem. You're gonna want to fix your sump or buy another one. Also did you change how the water exits the skimmer? What kind of skimmer is it.

it's an AquaC. It's actually made to be outside of the sump and no I didn't change the water flow. It is above the sump water level but lower then the tank so I'm not sure how that works. The problem is that I have a 30G sump and can't remove it with out removing the top tank.

what model aquac? Is it a remora or an EV series.

I bought my hole setup from somebody but looking at their website it looks similar to the EV models but just older. Yes it worked before and even for me until that wall in the sump failed.
