Here is the fission protein skimmer from current installed in my cube... I will let you know how it works. I just put it in last night, so we'll see.

I just bought the 12 gal. aqua pod and they sell the protein skimmers. I think it said they would fit in the nano cubes.

Bob, start a thread on the skimmer you got. You can be my guinea pig and if it works for you I will grab one! I might be ready to get a hood like yours too!

I am having a few minor problems getting the skimmer to work properly. It has nothing to do with the skimmer itself however. My tank is evaporating so fast with the new hood that I can't keep the skimmer postioned right to be effective. ATO here I come! Good thing Christmas is coming!

Yes, one end of the elbow was cracked. I just hooked the pump directly to the skimmer. It doesn't seem to effect how it works. From everything I have heard it WILL fit in your Aquapod.

You hooked your pump directly to the skimmer, is your tank a 24 or a 12? I can't fit the skimmer in any of my filter boxes on my NC12DX with the pump directly hooked to the skimmer, or even with just one elbow. I have to use both.

Sorry, I thought I mentioned that I have the 24NC. I would imagine that it is necessary to install this with the pump under the skimmer in a 12NC.

I gotcha, kinda figured as much. I mentioned in another post that I just got mine and it has a cracked elbow (female end) I called them up and they contacted CurrentUSA and were told that they are going to change the mold or whatever to eliminate the cracks in future production runs of the skimmer, I was also told that they would send me a replacement elbow once they get them in. I guess until then I will not operate my skimmer.

As I understand it, the Aquapod 12 and the NC12 are very similar in dimensions, so I would guess the odds are good you would need to use both elbows.

or did you move them to another chamber.
