Protien Skimmers ??

With my tank just starting out with just LR and LS, nothing else in it.... Will I need a Protien Skimmer right away or wait until my LR has established and the tank has cycled?

SOme protien skimmers can take weeks or months to break in and really be working to their max potential. I think you should get one as soon as you can afford it depending on what you have to skip in order to get the skimmer because of budget constraints. My sea-clone skimmer works great now, but was awful for the first 3 weeks.

Ok once I get the skimmer, will I need to cycle that into the tank before adding anything living besides LR and LS?

No, the skimmer is just another filter.. no need to cycle that... it will not cause anything bad in your tank...
small edit here, I read you rpost too fast. You will want the skimmer before you add any significant bio-load... ie real fish, clean-up crew etc..
