PS2 and HDTV

I was considering getting the ps2 to have the ability to play a few old games that I like down the road, but everything I am reading says that ps2 won't do the job with old games playing on wide-screen hdtv. Anybody have input on this?

I have my PS2 hooked up on my 42 plasma HDTV....plays full screen....why wouldn't it play it? How old of games are you talking about?

serpentines are doing well...no down time this winder, which is great.

mostly new games, but I have played older games...not sure what year...but stuff like Resident Evil...the first two...and it still comes out. But I have my PS2 connected to my surround sound receiver (to the VCR slot), then from there the video out takes it to the TV......Gotta have the surround sound for the scary games and sports title..LOL......like I said...full screen

I haven't tried it yet. I still have the PS2 hooked up to a TV in another room, so I haven't tried it. I just bought the memory card adapter thing a few weeks ago, so I guess I need to see how they look on the PS3.

Games that were not made to be upscaled ie. games from the 90s, will have the black bars on each side of the screen..Like watching a show on an HD channel and the show is not being converted

HOw do you take HD video from your receiver?

I have the PS2 cables going into my receiver. Then from my receiver I have an S video cable that goes into my TV....

Been waiting for you to reply all day..S-Video in NO WAY delivers HiDef video..

This is because you are not playing HiDef..Hook up the component cables and use that TV for what you paid...

Big difference on newer games..I am hooked on anything HiDef, so I try everything for the best picture...
