Damn right. I bought a PS1 and PS2 on their launch days, but don't think i'll try that same stunt this time (almost lost an eye one of those times). I'm waiting until after X-mas in hopes they'll drop the price.....even though I know they won't for atleast another year.
And the new trend of setting 2 price points is really friggin annoying. If I wanted choices or levels of performance from a gaming machine I'd buy a damned computer, then I'd expect the ridiculous price. It used to be a video game system was just that, nothing else, you expected one price for one machine. Soon we'll see systems with optional coasters or foot-warmers or maybe even a beverage cooler. I want my video game console to be a console, not a friggin computer! I buy it so i can put in a game, turn it on and play the game. Not turn it on, have a conversation with it, choose what color I want it to be, pick what level of graphics or performance i'd like it to run at, connect to the internet, register, wait, get laughed at by corporate CEOs for buying their money-leeching product, then have to buy software from third party
