Psycadelic goby

I've got a psycadelic goby and a red scooter in a 90 gallon without a refugium. I know they only eat pods and I do supplement them. My question is I see them picking at the rock and sand all day. I was just wondering are they finding small pods that I just can't see? Because it doesn't look like they're getting anything when they do it.

How old is your tank and how much LR do you have?

I have about 120lbs of lr. My tank is about four or five months old now. I know I have pods cause I can see them at night and I do add about 500 every other week.

I would highly suggest getting a refugium. You could get an aquafuge. Even though you supplement 500 pods every other week IMO that is not nearly enough and the mandarin/scooter will eventually starve to death.
If you get a HOB refugium or one in a sump then they can reproduce to the point where they can continuously resupply your tank. If you do this you can eventually save money because I know a bottle of pods isn't cheap! Hope this helps.
