I rescently lost a baby dogface to my 402 powerhead which i really loved. I would love another one but when i went to my lfs they had a few puffers 1 being a dog, that looked very fat and barley swam. he was an adult. I am use to my baby dogface swimmin all around non stop which i liked. What is the most active puffer for a 125 g aquaium?

Get a stars and stripes puffer. Their really active and get pretty big. The goldens are nice too. I'm getting one after I set up my 135 in the next few weeks. I have a porcupine puffer now and they are real friendly. Mine eats from myhand and lets me rub its head.

Sorry you lost your little puffer. I lost mine too.
There are many puffers to choose from, each personality different from the rest.... choose wisely.
I'm very partial to dog-face and pork puffers. A pork may push the limit for your tank in the long term though.
As for activity, each puffer (apart from the pork) is in my opinion an equal opportunity lazy ass. Mine was sometimes lazy, other times he was the most animated in the whole tank.
Have fun and choose wisely... there is no rush.
Make sure that powerhead is no longer a danger.

A powerhead is a pump that sucks in water and pumps it back out in order to create movement in the water.
I have two puffers in my tank, a striped and a blue spot, and I love them both. The blue spot does not get very big, but the striped will get to be about 15". He is an excellent puffer, and pretty unqiue too.
For your tank though, I would recommend a stars and stripes. They are a fantastic fish, and very friendly (they do get big though!). I know of a 2 foot long stars and stripes puffer that is in a 390 gallon tank and it is just such a cool fish.
