Dog face puffer fish.... Turning brown, has little white spots and his eye is cloudy. This morning very listless, didn't come up to feed, normally begs for it..... HELP!!!! Levels are normal.... I went home today and he was in the same spot when I left him this morning. His breathing is real slow and he has not changed his color back to grey. I have had him for about 3 months now I haven't taken him out of the water since I first introduced him into my dispaly tank. I did a 25% water change last night hoping that would help. I'am going to try doing hypo to see if that works. I have been feeding him Marine Quisine, and plankton, and once a month giving him Crabs, it is a all fish tank, One Trigger, and 2 Clarkki Clowns.......Any Suggestions are greatly appreciated......

What do you mean by "little white spots"? Does he have ich?
If your display tank is strictly FO, you can do hyposalinity in the display.

I was reading your Sticky post, and I have Live sand so I cannot do Hypo... I think it's ich but I'm not sure. His eye is cloudy now and he hasn't eatin all day. He won't get up from the sand and he is very brown.

Is live sand all you have? What about Live Rock, corals, inverts, crabs? If all you have is live sand, you can do the hyposalinity.

I just got through hypo in my FOWLR tank. I didn't care about the live sand or the rock. It can be reseeded and I didn't have anyplace to put it fo rthat long so I said screw it. I just felt like my fish were more important and they can't do anything to save themselves . Rock and sand are just that for the most part ya know? I would have done just about anything to save my puffer, lion and eel. Anyway, it worked for me and everyone is healthy. Good luck to you. The sticky in this thread on hypo is right on BTW. Cheers. :)

Ok so I'm really worried, I can home aftergoing and getting a QT Tank and I noticed that my puffer was puffed up, and then deflated, He is now breathing real heavy and not doing good at all, I don't belive that Ich is the problem because there is now no white spots, I'm wondering If the 25% water cahng helped? I don't know..... I will keep up with the Hypo, I tested my PH levels and they are at 8.4. How can I quiclky lower them or is this ok, I think it should be around 8.0....

I think 8.4 is okay if that's where it's been for awhile. Stabilty is important. If your Ph went up from 8.0 quickly that may have something to do with it. Ich frequently disappears after the free swimming lifecycle is over but they'll be back worse than before.

Yeah me too...I think I will still keep up on the hypo, just in case there is still a problem.... I wonder cause they all look healthy, but just in case...

You still haven't said what the spots looked like.
Sorry to hear that the puffer died. ICH comes and goes, as you can see if you read the post on ICH in the FAQ Thread.

The probllem does sound like, thus it would be a good idea to treat your remaining fish.
