Alright, I got 2 free puffers at a fish market (Long story short, they are now floating in a bag in my tank) I just couldn't resist the little buggers :D But Right now I'm trying to find out what kind they are, any help is appreciated, thanks!

Here's a few pics of Ed, and Wardo, named after the storm since I got them today =)

Any ideas? They are floating in my 155 with a yellow coris wrasse, and clown, and a damsel. Hoping and praying this will turn out alright, they are around 1.5-2in each =)

Aren't they cute! Yeah, I was going to get one of those, but lucky for me I reserched first! Those are green spotted puffers. They eat the fins off other fish. I would not let them out of the bag if I were you, if you don't believe me look up green spotted puffer online. Wish you luck!!!

yeah i posted that. look at the body shape..no where close to GSP. looks more like a target puffer then GSP.
the first pic looks like the coloration of GSPs on the top but the body shape in the other pics looks a lot diff

Definetly the green spotted puffer!!! Look at that puffer site that one person sent you. If you look you'll know it is a green spotted puffer.

Are you saying it is the green spotted puffer in the brackish section of the pufferpedia? If so, I'm sorry but they aren't GSP, I've had them before, plus these were caught in Galveston...

If they were caught in Galveston they probably aren't even puffers!!! Sorry about giving you wrong info. I guess my memory kind of fell short.

meeks101: I got them from a store that had random fish below the counter in tanks. They had mullet, shad, and I noticed these two little fellows. They were either caught in Galveston, or Galveston bay. When the worker picked one up (against what I told him) it Inflated its stomach until he placed it in the bag. They are DEFINATELY puffers
I guess I just have little weirdos on my hands =)
[E] I am 99.99999% sure they are not giant spotted puffers.

Okay, :D I guess I don't know what they are then. But there is still a chance they are green spotted puffers though. You know how some percula clowns have wider black bands than others, so much that they look like a completly different clown? Well that might be the case here. Although I do have to agree with you that they don't look exactly the same. Just put them in your tank and see if they eat the fins off other fish, if they do you know you've got a green spotted puffer.
