My friend is getting out of the hobby,(couldn't keep his guppies alive) and he is GIVING AWAY his 25 gallon tank. My question is if I take it will any puffer species live comfotably in such a small tank?

Im not sure, but mabey you could have a valentini puffer in there, but the tank might be a little too small

As long as you cycle the tank properly and keep up with water changes I see no reason why a toby puffer would not be content. There are also the brackish figure8 and spotted puffers which would do well too.

Yes, the brackish ones are cheap, relatively small, very hardy, and have that same puffer personality we all love.

Weird, my leopard puffer is at the from glass swimming around like its on crack from lights on till lights off. Do you feed it too much? Keep em a tad hungry, feeding every other day.

yeah, i feed one pellet of brine shrimp every day, i have him with cichlids so its gone in seconds. he gets his fair share tho. it is weird tho, ive had multiple leopard puffers and most of them have niped at its tankmates and pushed them around but this one is just docile as can be.
