i got my porky puffer last thursday. its been almost a week and he still hasnt ate anything. i tried frozen krill and frozen brine and nothing! any ideas of what i can try?
also, i have a snowflake eel that has been by himself till i got the puffer. i hope this isnt the cause but when i put him in, the next day i tried feeding him off a feeding stick cause he wont come to the top of the tank or come near me (when he sees me he hides). the eel latched onto him and threw him to the ground and didnt let go till the puffer puffed up.

What was he eating in the pet store? And did you make sure he was eating before you bought him?
Mine started eating right out of my hand from day one, and always comes to the top of the tank any time I walk up to the tank. So I can't help you with that part of it, but it sounds like he may be a little disoriented from being in new surroundings, and being attached by your eel probably didn't help the matter either.

I wouldn't try silver sides, puffers really aren't fish eaters.Try some clams, mussels, oysters,or some shrimp that you would get at a seafood market.
