Puffer puffs up

My spinny box puffer puffs up at least once a week for no reason. I only have seen it do it that often how knows for sure. I don't sit there and wach him all day every day. anyway what could be the problem or is this normal? My aminoa is 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 20 ph 8.4 temp 80 gavity 1.024

It's normal, they puff up a lot for no reason at all, I wouldn't worry about it.

This is for defense purposes...something is spooking the animal.

I wouldn't be too worried, but something prob is scaring it. could just be that your cat zooms by the tank really quick and freaks him out. water looks good, so something else must be frightening him.

When my puppy would be near the tank playing, my puffer puffed.

A convict blenny which stay hiden under the rocks most of the time. I think I have noticed it back sections starts hanging low like he is full of poo. and after he puffs up he looks normal but there is a large ball in the bottom of the tank. Maybe it is costumpation.LOL
