Pull out the undergravel filter or leave it?

We have put in a sand filter that attached to the back of the tank to replace the undergravel filter. We were told to pull out the underground filter after a few days because it would contaminate the tank eventually if left in. What do you think? We have 25lbs live rock, crushed coral substrate, 3 dominos, a few clean up crew. What would you do?

when i restarted my tank last year, i pulled out the under gravel filter that was supplied for the crushed coral. now that i have a dsb, there's no need for one. but i also had in service a lifeguard fluidized sandbed filter. yechh! i could never get it dialed in just right. eventually it blew out all of the sand/media. you may want to add a skimmer to the program, though. ;)
