pulsating xenia...

My pulsating xenia has branched off into many different branches in a matter of 3-4 months from a single stalk. However, the bases of the new branches don't seem to have a good hold of the LR. Is this normal? Will their grasp eventually improve? They look like they're just flopping in the current.
Also, once the xenia grow too big for the current piece of LR, where will the continue growing?
Any experiences or advice is always appreciated.
Thanks...

Your zenia will spread anywhere it can reach. If its anything like mine, it will try to take over your tank. I would reccomend "managing it" to keep it where you want it now before you have an entire tank of pulsing zenia! ( unless thats what you want ..) Just my .02

I amange mine by placing a small piece of LR next to it near where it is heading and then once it grows onto the new LR I bring it to my lFS and get store credit.

Kyle....I'm just so nervous that one of my snails will run over my xenia and pull it off the LR base. It looks like the base is just barely hanging on.
Jedi.....once you xenia spreads to another rock, do you cut it?

I manage mine by placing them in high place in the tank they tend to grow toward the light and they dont seem to spead as crazy something you may want to try .:jumping: :jumping: :jumping:

If you cut it, it will grow new polyps out of the cut portion. this will speed up the growth considerably.

NVMYCJ :
Once it moves over to the "Small LR frag" I put next to it, I bring it to my LFS for credit. Xenia grow very quickly in a healthy tank, and can "take Over" if not properly maintained.
LFs almost always take our frags for store credit. I have yet to find one that doesnt.

Just give it few more days before you cut it.
